கண் திரள் முத்தம் பயக்கும், இரு முந்நீர்ப் பண்டங்கொள் நாவாய் வழங்கும் துறைவனை, முண்டகக் கானலுள் கண்டேன் எனத்தெளிந்தேன், நின்ற உணர்விலாதேன்.   I understood when I saw the lord of the shores in the grove with mundakam plants,   on whose shores ships arrive to take goods and the huge ocean yields pearls as large as eye balls,   but stood there with no feelings. விளக்கம்: கண்விழிபோல் திரண்ட முத்துக்களைத் தரும் பெரிய கடலில் பொருள்களை ஏற்றுமதி செய்கின்ற மரக்கலங்கள்  உலவும்படியான துறைமுகத் தலைவனை தாரைச் செடிகள் சூழ்ந்த கடற்கரைச் சோலையில் இன்று அரிதாய்க் காணப்பெற்றேன். அவனைப் பிரிந்த போது நேர்ந்த துன்பத்தால் இப்பொழுது இன்ப  உணர்ச்சி இல்லாதவலாளேன்" என்று தன் நெஞ்சுக்குத் தலைமகள் கூறினாள். பொருள்: கண் திரள் முத்தம் பயக்கும் இரு முந்நீர் – huge ocean that yields pearls thick big eye balls, பண்டங்கொள் நாவாய் வழங்கும் துறைவனை – man of the shores where ships come to take goods, முண்டகக் கானலுள் கண்டேன் எனத்தெளிந்தேன் – I understood when I saw him in the grove with mundakam plants, நீர் முள்ளி, thorn bush, நின்ற உணர்விலாதேன் – I stood there with no feeling source: https://pathinenkeelkanakku.wordpress.com/ஐந்திணை-எழுபது/

ஆ. வேலுப்பிள்ளை ·         ஆ. வேலுப்பிள்ளை (நவம்பர் 29, 1936 - நவம்பர் 1, 2015) இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அறிஞரும், தமிழ்ப் பேராசிரியரும் ஆவார். இரண்டு முனைவர் பட்டங்களைப் பெற்றவர். தமிழ், தமிழக வரலாறு, புத்த, சமண சமயத்துறைகளில் ஆற்றல் பெற்ற ஆய்வாளர். ·         பாண்டியர் காலக் கல்வெட்டுகளில் (1251- 1350 AD) தமிழ்மொழிநிலை என்ற பொருளில் ஆய்வு செய்தவர். இங்கிலாந்தில் புகழ்பெற்ற ஆக்சுபோர்டு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் 1962-1964 இல் பேராசிரியர் பர்ரோ அவர்களின் மேற்பார்வையில் ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டு (D.Phil)பட்டம் பெற்றவர். ·         கல்வெட்டுகளில் தமிழ்மொழியின் நிலை (கி.பி.800 - 920) என்ற தலைப்பில் ஆய்வு நிகழ்த்தியவர். இவரது கல்வெட்டு ஆய்வுகள் தமிழகக் கல்வெட்டுகளைப் பற்றியும், இலங்கைக் கல்வெட்டுகள் பற்றியும் பல தகவல்களைத் தருகின்றன. ·         பின்னாளில் இவரது ஆய்வேட்டுச் செய்திகள் நூல்வடிவம் பெற்றபொழுது தமிழுலகம் இவரது ஆராய்ச்சி வன்மையை ஏற்றுப் போற்றியது. 31.05.1996 இல் சுவீடனில் உள்ள உப்சாலாப் பல்கலைக்கழகமும் இவரது பேரறிவுகண்டு இவருக்குச் சிறப்பு முனைவர் பட்டம் வழங்கிப் பாராட்டியது. மேலும் படிக்க
