ஆ. வேலுப்பிள்ளை ·         ஆ. வேலுப்பிள்ளை (நவம்பர் 29, 1936 - நவம்பர் 1, 2015) இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அறிஞரும், தமிழ்ப் பேராசிரியரும் ஆவார். இரண்டு முனைவர் பட்டங்களைப் பெற்றவர். தமிழ், தமிழக வரலாறு, புத்த, சமண சமயத்துறைகளில் ஆற்றல் பெற்ற ஆய்வாளர். ·         பாண்டியர் காலக் கல்வெட்டுகளில் (1251- 1350 AD) தமிழ்மொழிநிலை என்ற பொருளில் ஆய்வு செய்தவர். இங்கிலாந்தில் புகழ்பெற்ற ஆக்சுபோர்டு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் 1962-1964 இல் பேராசிரியர் பர்ரோ அவர்களின் மேற்பார்வையில் ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டு (D.Phil)பட்டம் பெற்றவர். ·         கல்வெட்டுகளில் தமிழ்மொழியின் நிலை (கி.பி.800 - 920) என்ற தலைப்பில் ஆய்வு நிகழ்த்தியவர். இவரது கல்வெட்டு ஆய்வுகள் தமிழகக் கல்வெட்டுகளைப் பற்றியும், இலங்கைக் கல்வெட்டுகள் பற்றியும் பல தகவல்களைத் தருகின்றன. ·         பின்னாளில் இவரது ஆய்வேட்டுச் செய்திகள் நூல்வடிவம் பெற்றபொழுது தமிழுலகம் இவரது ஆராய்ச்சி வன்மையை ஏற்றுப் போற்றியது. 31.05.1996 இல் சுவீடனில் உள்ள உப்சாலாப் பல்கலைக்கழகமும் இவரது பேரறிவுகண்டு இவருக்குச் சிறப்பு முனைவர் பட்டம் வழங்கிப் பாராட்டியது. மேலும் படிக்க
