Dear Well-Wisher,
Greetings from Delhi!
This is my 34th of the periodical Newsletters on various themes of interest.
As desired by many friends, I have been sharing some of my thoughts on various themes/events of interest, through periodical NewsLetters - being sent around the world.
Some themes may not be of interest to some and they may find it rather long. But I have to do justice to the chosen theme/event/organisation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may be wondering why this letter in the midst of the serious national / global crisis unprecedented in the annals of human history!
True as the IMF says "This is the Darkest Hour of Humanity".
Ups and downs – births and deaths have been part of history – human life. But life has to go on!
According to the Population Reference Bureau and the World Factbook (2011), there are 250 births each minute and 105 deaths each minute. Also each second there are 4 births and two persons die each second.
As Marie Curie says, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
Fear will only lower the immunity in the individual and the nation as a whole. People with enormous immunity have to fear nothing in life.
Every precaution has to be taken by individuals, society and the nation as a whole.
But preparations should also go on, as even this catastrophe is not going to be the end of the world.
As Victor Hugo say, "Even the Darkest Night Will End and the Sun Will Rise".
Nothing is permanent. As the saying goes "this also will pass".
Achievements have to be celebrated to encourage the performers and to encourage others to follow.
That is the purpose of my starting periodical Newsletters. – 34 of them so far. Many themes touch the hearts of people, who appreciate them.
DRK's Newsletter 10 told the world about the unique GVK EMRI-108 ambulance system, the largest in the world, saving several lakhs of lives and also ensuring safe delivery of lakhs of children (now operating with 13,200 fully equipped ambulance vehicles and 55,000 (corona warriors) well-trained employees, covering 80 percent of India's population). The chairman of GVK EMRI-108 Dr. GVK Reddy commended this letter for letting the world about the great service being rendered by GVK EMRI 108.
DRK's Newsletter 18 let the world know about the unique Akshaya Patra operated by two eminent devotees of Lord Krishna, Madhu Pandit Dasa Prabhu and Chanchalapathi Dasa Prabhu – serving nutritious, hot, hygienically prepared meals to over 20 lakhs of students on every working day in many States. The respected monks thanked me for informing the world at large about Akshaya Patra's unique services, as reading the letter, many more requests came to them to extend the service.
DRK's Newsletter 21 reminded the world about the celebrated iconic Jamsetji Tata's vision, initiative, courage and dynamism in initiating transformation of India into a nation of growing industry, science and education. Mr. Ratan Tata sent a gracious message of thanks for reminding the nation about the foundation laid 150 years ago by the great JN Tata for the all-round development of the nation.
DRK's Newsletter 26 told the nation about how many dedicated, selfless, caring individuals through organisations like "Roti Bank" of Mumbai, run by former top cop Sivanandan, DGP and "No Food Waste" run by Padmanaban of Chennai, who collect food going waste and feed them to thousands of the poor struggling even for one meal a day. Reading this letter, many organisations got motivated and undertook similar service in more places to feed the hungry with the food going waste.
DRK's Newsletter 33 brought to light the silent services of DLF / Pia Singh through Paramhansa Yogananda Trust - taking care of thousands of neglected poor elderly widows in the holy town of Vrindavan – providing everything for them – food, shelter, clothing, medicare. Even during the current crisis, DLF/Pia Singh is providing cooked meals through Akshaya Patra for hundreds of thousands of stranded migrant labour at many places including Delhi, Noida and Gurugram.
Through this Newsletter of 34 (attached), I am letting the world know about Hand in Hand India, an organisation founded by a Swedish philanthropist. In a short period of 16 years has succeeded in rescuing children from slums and hard labour and rehabilitating thousands of them; transforming the lives of thousands of rural poor women and also successfully working in the field of tribal welfare and solid waste management.
The Newsletter is rather lengthy and you may please look at it only when you have sufficient time.
In case you do not wish to receive such communications in future, please let us know.
In case you find them of some interest, you are welcome to forward to others.
In case you would like to see previous 33 DRK's NewsLetters, they may be accessed through my website: www.goodgovernance.in. Links for some of the previous Newsletters are given below.
Please also find at the end of the Newsletter "letter of advice and caution from Coronavirus" as a wake-up call to the entire world.
